The present article compares Kant’s and Lotze’s concepts of synthetic judgments. Lotze’s aim isa renewing of Kant’s solutions, which he achieves thanks to the introduction of the distinctionbetween the analytic (identical) content and the synthetic form of these judgments, recognisedby Kant as synthetic. This distinction makes it possible to lay down the concept of the intentionalsense which has an influence over Frege and Husserl.
