    Citation Excerpt :

We measured milk-specific IgE levels in mid-childhood on a subset of our sample and did not observe associations of timing of CMPI with milk sensitization or IgE-mediated milk allergy in mid-childhood. There is well-founded concern that suggesting early introduction of cow’s milk for allergy prevention may undermine efforts to promote breast-feeding.35 Our results should not be interpreted as conflicting with recommendations to breast-feed, because breast-feeding is associated with extensive health benefits for the mother and infant.36
