Aortic root replacement following combined Konno and intracardiac repair of tetralogy of Fallot with aortic stenosis

Abstract

We present a rare association of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) with congenital aortic valvar stenosis who needed an aortoventriculoplasty for aortic root enlargement along with repair of TOF. The patient subsequently developed prosthetic valve endocarditis for which he underwent successful aortic root replacement with a porcine aortic root. Aortic root replacement for endocarditis following a Konno operation is previously undescribed.
