Wissentlich oder unwissentlich sind wir ständig mit Überzeugungsstrategien konfrontiert: in der Werbung, in der Politik, in der Alltagskommunikation. Dieser Allgegenwärtigkeit von Überzeugungsvorgängen trägt der vorliegende Band Rechnung. Vertreter eines weiten Fächerspektrums (Philosophie, Geschichte, Politologie, Sinologie, Altertums-, Literatur-, Musik- und Rechtswissenschaft, Psychologie und Biologie) untersuchen verschiedene Arten von Überzeugungsstrategien von der Antike bis heute, in Europa, in China und in den U.S.A., in direkten Demokratien und in totalitären Herrschaftssystemen, in der Politik und im Recht, in Literatur, Erziehung, Kunst und Wissenschaft, in der Kommunikation zwischen Menschen, aber auch zum Beispiel zwischen Menschen und Dämonen.
