Bei der Entwicklung von Anwendungssoftware sieht sich die Entwicklerseite nicht selten mit dem Problem konfrontiert, daß die für die Entwicklung von Software gebräuchlichen Begriffe, Vorgehensweisen und Methoden für die Anwender seite schwer verständlich sind. Der Anwenderseite wiederum fehlt mitunter das Verständnis dafür, welche Aussagen zu Zwecken einer möglichst vollständigen Fachspezifikation zu treffen sind. Da dieses Problem in der Wirtschaftsinformatik bekannt ist, wurden verschiedene Ansätze und Konzepte für einen partizipativen Software-Entwurf entwickelt, die es An wendern und Entwicklern ermöglichen sollen, eine gemein same "Sprache" und einen gemeinsamen "Weg" zu finden. Die Zielsetzung dieser Dissertation besteht - verkürzt darge stellt - darin, die Tragfähigkeit des Paradigmas der Objektori entierung für die benutzernahen Phasen des Software-Ent wurfs insgesamt zu evaluieren. Dazu erarbeitet der Verfasser ein Anforderungsprofil eines Fachentwurfs, das die "Meßlatte" darstellt, anhand derer drei konventionelle und drei objektorientierte Methoden bewertet werden. Bei seiner Kritik setzt sich der Verfasser zunächst detailliert mit den "positionsspezifischen" Sichtweisen von Fachabteilung und Entwicklern auf den Software-Entwick lungsprozeß auseinander und legt dar, welche Veränderun gen in den Sichtweisen durch ein konsequentes Denken und Handeln in "Objekten" möglich sind. Daran anschließend werden Vorgehensmodelle diskutiert, die sich als Leitlinie zu der Gestaltung des Entwicklungsprozesses vor dem Hinter grund der Objektorientierung eignen. Der Verfasser ist seiner Zielsetzung für diese Arbeit konse quent gefolgt. In stringenter Analyse hat er dargelegt, daß objektorientierte Ansätze das Anforderungsprofil eines Fach entwurfs besser abdecken als strukturierte Methoden
