This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of Kesselring's order for German Air Force (GAF) cooperation with the Italian Air Force in continuous bombing of shipping off Tripoli, on February 2; and of serviceable tanks and fuel stocks, on February 3; on the Russian Front: the 6th Army's day report for January 15, noting high losses in casualties, and by frost bite; of an order from Hitler to all fronts for all cross-country and other vehicles to be prepared for handing over to be used by the army at the front, on January 26; that Russian forces were reported south west of the Kharkov-Voroshilovgrad railway, on February 2; of the GAF's organisation in Romania, and its responsibilities and objectives, from January 13; from the Portuguese minister in Ankara, relaying rumours of a meeting between senior officials and Churchill in Turkey, on January 31; from the French ambassador in Ankara, relating rumours of a secret meeting between Churchill and Turkish leaders, on February 1; from the German ambassador in Ankara, on the possibility of Churchill having a meeting in the neighbourhood of Adana and Mersin, on January 30; and that the Turkish President is returning to Ankara, on January 31.
