Kurt Böwe (* 28. April 1929 in Reetz, Kreis Westprignitz; † 14. Juni 2000 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Schauspieler, der in der DDR in Film und Theater sehr erfolgreich war und auch dem gesamtdeutschen Publikum schließlich als Kommissar Groth in der Fernsehserie Polizeiruf 110 bekannt wurde. 1961 erhält Kurt Böwe sein erstes Engagement am Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, später spielt er am Landestheater Halle. Er ist in Stücken von Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Maxim Gorki und Bertolt Brecht zu sehen. 1973 kehrt der Schauspieler nach Berlin zurück, steht seitdem auf der Bühne des Deutschen Theaters. Hier steigt er bald zu einem der bekanntesten und beliebtesten Darsteller auf, spielt Hendrik Ibsen, Heinrich von Kleist, Heinrich Mann oder Gerhardt Hauptmann. Er arbeitet mit den Regisseuren Alexander Lang und Thomas Langhoff. Seit Anfang der 60er Jahre arbeitet der Schauspieler auch für den Film. Anfangs wird er in zahlreichen Nebenrollen besetzt, aber als er sich auf der Theaterbühne etabliert hat, erhält er auch bei der DEFA wichtige Hauptrollen.
