Nach den in letzter Zeit erschienenen Zitatenlexika mittleren Umfangs, "Nota bene!" (3. Auflage, Artemis & Winkler, 1999; 3000 Zitate) und "Reclams lateinisches Zitaten-Lexikon" (ID 12/97), - das wesentlich schmalere Bändchen "Veni vidi vici" (BA 2/93) bietet knapp ein Drittel inkl. griechischer Sentenzen, bringt dafür zusätzlich zu Fundstellennachweisen und Übersetzung aber noch ausführliche Erläuterungen - liegt jetzt auch eine elektronische Sammlung vor, die 12191 Zitate lateinischer Sprichwörter, Gedanken römischer Autoren, kirchliche und volkstümliche Wendungen bis zur frühen Neuzeit sowie aus der römischen Rechtstradition nachweist und ins Deutsche überträgt. Mit den aus der Reihe hinlänglich bekannten Arbeits- und Recherchemöglichkeiten (vgl. dazu "Propyläen Weltgeschichte" und "Knaurs Lexikon der Symbole", beide BA 11/99) sind hier für alle Gelegenheiten die passenden dicta et proverbia aufzufinden. Ebenso unkompliziert kann die Bedeutung von Gelesenem oder Gehörtem recherchiert werden. Der Preis ist vom Medium Buch nicht zu schlagen. Vor Printausgaben empfohlen. (2 A)
