Mit ihrem neuen Buch knüpft die israelische Schriftstellerin inhaltlich an ihren letzten Roman ("Who the fuck is Kafka", ID-A 22/15) an, der das israelisch-palästinensische Verhältnis zum Thema hatte. Ein Jahr lang traf sie sich mit jüdischen und palästinensischen Mitgliedern der "Friedenskämpfer", einer Organisation, die sich für eine gewaltlose Beendigung der Okkupation und Frieden in der Region einsetzt. Doron erzählt von ihren Gesprächen mit 5 Mitgliedern der Gruppe, Palästinensern, die als Terroristen im Gefängnis saßen und israelischen Wehrdienstverweigerern, die sie an ihren Lebensgeschichten, ihren Irrwegen, Ängsten und Träumen teilhaben lassen. Zunächst fällt es ihr schwer, Verständnis aufzubringen. Immer wieder erinnert sie sich an Freunde, die als Soldaten gefallen sind, an die vielen Attentate, die zum israelischen Alltag gehören. Allmählich weicht das Misstrauen, die Autorin entwickelt Mitgefühl und Verständnis. Doron gibt den "Friedenskämpfern" eine authentische Stimme, gleichzeitig setzt sie sich mit ihren eigenen Vorurteilen, ihrer Geschichte und ihren Gefühlen auseinander. (2) [Larissa Dämmig]
