Series Statement: Psychodrama in Counselling, Coaching and Education ; v.1
Content: This open access book outlines the intersections between social work and the methods of sociometry and psychodrama. Different sections offer essential practice wisdom for both trauma-focused and trauma-informed experiential work for individuals, groups, organizations, and communities. This text enriches the understanding of various action-based approaches and highlights how to enliven social work practice. The chapters include clinical vignettes and examples of structured sociometric prompts with diverse populations, topics, and social work settings to enhance the understanding of group practice, individual practice, and community practice. It provides social workers and other professionals with dynamic tools to improve assessment, intervention, activism, and leadership. Strength-based practical tools are offered to readers, along with guidance for theoretical conceptualizations. This integrative book is an essential read for students, practitioners, leaders, and scholars within the fields of social work, psychodrama, the creative art therapies, group therapy, community organizing, and social activism.

Content: Some people have a gender which is neither male nor female and may identify as both male and female at one time, as different genders at different times, as no gender at all, or dispute the very idea of only two genders. The most often heard umbrella terms for such genders are 'non-binary' or 'genderqueer' genders. This book looks to bring together those currently exploring and researching this non-binary phenomenon. Gender identities outside of the binary of female and male are increasingly being recognized in social, legal, medical and psychological discourses together with the emerging presence and advocacy of people, who identify as non-binary or genderqueer. Population-based studies show a small percentage - but a sizable proportion in terms of numbers - of people who identify as non-binary. While such genders have always been in existence worldwide, they remain marginalized, and as such at risk of victimization and of minority stress as a result of social non-acceptance and discrimination. Non-binary and Genderqueer Genders explores these gender identities in relation to health, well-being, and/or other experiences in an effort to contribute to improving clinical standards and continued cultural change towards acceptance for this group of people.

Content: "Good luck isn't just chance, it can be learned and leveraged, and The Serendipity Mindset explains how to use serendipity to make life better at work, at home-everywhere. Most of us think that the important decisions and events in our lives happen by chance, that they're out of our control. Often we think that successful people-and successful companies and organizations-are simply luckier than the rest of us. Good fortune-serendipity-just seems to happen to them. But is that true? Are some people naturally luckier than others? Or are they better at creating the conditions for coincidence to arise and taking advantage of them when they do? How can we connect the dots of seemingly random events to improve our lives? In The Serendipity Mindset, Christian Busch explains that serendipity isn't about luck in the sense of randomness. It's about seeing what others don't, combining these observations in unexpected and strategic ways, and learning how to detect the moments when apparently random or unconnected ideas merge to form new opportunities. Busch explores serendipity from a rational and scientific perspective and argues that there are identifiable approaches we can use to improve the conditions to let serendipity grow in our lives. The Serendipity Mindset offers a clear, engaging blueprint for how individuals, families, communities, and businesses can cultivate serendipity to increase innovation and influence. Drawing from the latest research in biology, chemistry, physics, management, and information systems, and using examples of people from all walks of life, Busch illustrates how serendipity works, in the process explaining how each of us can train our own serendipity muscle to use this powerful force in our own lives. Once we understand how serendipity works, Busch says, we become curators of it and luck is no longer something that just happens to us-it becomes a force that we can grasp, shape, and hone"--

Series Statement: Routledge companions in business, management and accounting
Content: "An unprecedented and important reference work, this research companion covers a range of aspects of happiness, an aim everyone aspires to achieve, yet can be easily overlooked in today's demanding and multi-challenged world, or confused with a plethora of quantifiable or career goals. This book helps readers to internalize happiness, form a healthy opinion about this emotion, and detach it from external factors that can only cause temporary discomfort or delight. A group of expert authors considers happiness within three critical realms: internally, interactively, and work-related. Their thoughtful contributions approach happiness from a multiplicity of angles, and present a full spectrum of backgrounds and perspectives to consider, based on a wide range of circumstances, personal and professional. This companion will be valuable for researchers, students, and coaches, whether they seek input for future theory development, or motivation for performance in personal and professional life"--

Content: "Does a bilingual person have two separate lexicons and two separate grammatical systems? Or should the bilingual linguistic competence be regarded as an integrated system? This book explores these questions, which are central to current debate in the study of bilingualism, and argues for an integrated hypothesis: the linguistic competence of an individual is a single cognitive faculty, and the bilingual mind should not be regarded as fundamentally different from the monolingual one. This conclusion is backed up with a variety of empirical data, in particular code-switching, drawn from a variety of bilingual pairs. López introduces key notions in minimalism and distributed morphology, making them accessible to readers with different scholarly foci. This book will be of interest to those working in linguistics and psycholinguistics, especially bilingualism, code-switching, and the lexicon"--

Series Statement: Cultural dynamics of social representation
Content: Social Thinking and History demonstrates that our representations of history are constructed through complex psychosocial processes in interaction with multiple others, and that they evolve throughout our lifetime, playing an important role in our relation to our social environment. Building on the literature on social thinking, collective memory, and sociocultural psychology, this book proposes a new perspective on how we understand and use our collective past. It focuses on how we actively think about history to construct representations of the world within which we live and how we learn to challenge or appropriate the stories we have heard about the past. Through the analysis of three studies of how history is understood and represented in different contexts - in political discourses in France, by intellectuals and artists in Belgium, and when discussing a current event in Poland - its aim is to offer a rich picture of our representations of the past and the role they play in everyday life. This book will be of great interest toacademics, researchers, and postgraduate students in the fields of psychology, memory studies, sociology, political science, and history. It will also make an interesting read for psychologists andhuman and social scientists working on collective memory

Content: A mutiny on a ship is a dramatic event. This leadership crisis has a negative impact on seamanship and also hinders the achievement of a company's goals. The mutiny on HMS BOUNTY in 1789 also relates to numerous issues pertaining to good leadership. However, little attention has been paid to this set of issues in research literature so far. In this book, the author analyses relevant historical sources in an appealing manner and contrasts them with alternative facts. Thanks to the key points of the Bounty Principle, leaders do not always fall into the same harmful patterns of behaviour. A captain on shore can navigate a company with seamanlike composure and keep his or her employees motivated on board
