Die Biografie des Kölner Ausdauer- und Extremsportlers Elmar Sprink (geboren 1971) beginnt mit einem detaillierten Bericht über seine vielfältigen sportlichen Aktivitäten mit besonderer Betonung seiner Triathlonerfahrungen. Ebenso intensiv beschreibt der Verfasser seine Erkrankungen, die mit dem Zusammenbruch seines Herzens enden. Die Transplantation eines Spenderherzens steht am Anfang einer neuen sportlichen Laufbahn, gekrönt durch die Teilnahme am Hawaii-Triathlon (3,8 Kilometer Schwimmen, 180 Kilometer Radfahren und 42,2 Kilometer Laufen) im Jahre 2014. Auch diesen beendet er erfolgreich, denn "Wo ein Wille ist, ist ein Weg". Man mag das glauben oder nicht, seine Leistungen bleiben bewundernswert.
