Begleitet von drei Reiseführern macht sich eine Gruppe von acht Personen auf zu einem Digital-Detox-Trip in die Berge, bei dem komplett auf Handys etc. verzichtet werden muss. Kaum in der Unterkunft angekommen, schneidet ein Schneesturm sie von der Außenwelt ab. Noch in der ersten Nacht verschwindet einer aus ihrer Gruppe und wird am nächsten Morgen schwer verstümmelt aufgefunden. War der Täter einer der beiden Hausmeister? Oder ist er in ihren eigenen Reihen zu suchen? Als weitere Teilnehmer getötet und gefoltert werden, greift die nackte Panik um sich und keiner vertraut mehr dem Anderen. - Nach der abgeschlossenen Trilogie um Kommissar Bischoff (vgl. 'Toter Schrei'; ID-A 8/19) wieder ein Stand-Alone des Bestsellerautors. Gewohnt drastisch in der Schilderung blutiger Einzelheiten, legt Strobel viele falsche Spuren, sodass der Leser bis kurz vor Ende genauso wenig wie die Protagonisten ahnt, wer wirklich hinter den Morden steckt. Die vermeintliche Auflösung entpuppt sich dann auch noch als Finte, die (Er-)Lösung gibt es erst auf S. 247. Landet mit Sicherheit auf der Spiegel-Bestsellerliste - kaufen! Lisa Pohl
