Abstract:
The aim of the study is to examine children's literature products on migration and refugee in the context of "Process". The process is discussed in four groups as the reason of the journey, pre-journey, the journey and the new place / new life. In the research; Ten children's literature products such as Arkadaşım Korku, Bavulumdaki Kırık Fincan, Bir Balina Bir Bavula Nasıl Sığar, Dişe Diş, Hoş Geldiniz, Kayıp Köpek Üzüm, Savaşı Bitiren Sinek, Tarık ve Beyaz Karga, Tombik Balık Denizler Hepimizin, Veda Öpücüğü were examined. The fact that the phenomenon of migration or refugee was handled with the help of a non-human creature or object played a decisive role in the selection of the books. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by categorical analysis, which is one of the types of content analysis. In the phenomenon of migration, which is considered as a process, the reason for the journey is sometimes clearly stated and sometimes implied. Before the journey, situations such as refusing to change place, saying goodbye, trying to find a solution, and emotional states such as longing, fear, and anxiety were reflected. In most of the books under review, the journey process was not addressed and in the books that deal with the journey process, the negative situations and feelings experienced by the journey process are generally reflected. In the new place/new life, it has been determined that emotions, needs and situations such as curiosity, empathy, longing, fear, seeking, acceptance/rejection, doubt, tolerance, friendship, loneliness, socialization, respect, love, hope, and getting used to are included. In this context, it is thought that children's literature products can be helpful resources in recognizing emotional states, coping and searching for solutions, and will also enable them to realize intercultural communication. In addition, it is seen that non-human beings and objects are remarkable elements of what immigration and immigration can make and feel.
