Harich (2009), 'Building a Marketing Curriculum to Support Courses in Social Entrepreneurship and Social Venture Competitions', Journal of Marketing Education, 31 (1), April, 5-15 , It is over twenty years since the first research article on social entrepreneurship was published. The literature has reached the critical mass necessary for reflection and singling out of exemplar pieces, and the exponential growth in research interest in the field now merits identification of foundational and model papers to aid and guide future advancements. In creating this collection, the editors have successfully brought together the most important and influential social entrepreneurship articles to date. Topics covered include social entrepreneurship opportunities and creation, developing business models and organizational forms, social impact and contextual influences on social entrepreneurship. The research review will be of immense value to students, researchers and scholars interested in the field of social entrepreneurship

Content: "In 1966, Paul Baran and Paul Sweezy published Monopoly Capital, a monumental work of economic theory and social criticism that sought to reveal the basic nature of the capitalism of their time. Their theory, and its continuing elaboration by Sweezy, Harry Magdoff, and others in Monthly Review magazine, infl uenced generations of radical and heterodox economists. They recognized that Marx's work was unfi nished and itself historically conditioned, and that any attempt to understand capitalism as an evolving phenomenon needed to take changing conditions into account. Having observed the rise of giant monopolistic (or oligopolistic) fi rms in the twentieth century, they put monopoly capital at the center of their analysis, arguing that the rising surplus such fi rms accumulated...as a result of their pricing power, massive sales efforts, and other factors...could not be profi tably invested back into the economy.

Content: Library Journal: New Beginnings is what Derks terms the period 2010-14, coverage of which is included in this fifth edition of a straightforward reference. Certainly there are free cost-of-living comparison tools online, but this collection of price history tables for goods, salaries, investments, and various side matter yields riches not to be encountered in single-query searches. For example, while many prices dropped during the recent economic downturn, this reference demonstrates in aggregate how they are now "recovering" upward. VERDICT An illuminating compendium for money-crunching history buffs

Content: In the wake of the Civil War, Constance Fenimore Woolson became one of the first northern observers to linger in the defeated states from Virginia to Florida. Born in New Hampshire in 1840 and raised in Ohio, she was the grandniece of James Fenimore Cooper and was gaining success as a writer when she departed in 1873 for St. Augustine. During the next six years, she made her way across the South and reported what she saw, first in illustrated travel accounts and then in the poetry, stories, and serialized novels that brought unsettled social relations to the pages of Harper's Monthly , the Atl
