Farbenfrohe, turbulente Zeichentrickversion des berühmten Märchens aus Tausendundeiner Nacht: Der Straßendieb Aladdin und sein Flaschengeist kämpfen mit dem bösen Großwesir des Sultans um die schöne Prinzessin. Die Animation beeindruckt besonders in den "computerrealistischen" Hintergründen und fließenden Bewegungen, die Zeichnung der menschlichen Gesichtszüge fällt dagegen sichtlich ab. Eine leichtfüßige, sehr witzige Disney-Produktion, ganz auf den Flaschengeist zugeschnitten; jedoch dürften kleinere Kinder Probleme haben, den von Gags und Anspielungen strotzenden, ungemein temporeichen Soloauftritten des Dschinni zu folgen. - Sehenswert ab 8. Extras: Filmmakers' Audio Commentary features co-writers, producers and directors John Musker and Ron Clements along with co-producer Amy Pell. Though this was recorded some ten years after the film's original release, the three still have strong and vivid memories of the rather convoluted pre-production phase, not to mention casting, recording and animating. This is enjoyable, highly interesting fare, often relatively technical without being hard to follow. Sing Along With the Movie offers subtitles for the musical numbers.
