Ist dem Leser Dávila kein Hindernis, so wird er womöglich bei der Lektüre Leon Bloys (1846-1917) an seine Grenzen gelangen. Dem promovierten Historiker und Germanisten Alexander Pschera ist es zu verdanken, diesem Fall entgegenzuwirken und eine einführende Studie zu Bloy vorzulegen. Warum sollte man also heute noch Bloy lesen? Und vor allem wie? Das vorliegende Buch versucht, auf beide Fragen eine Antwort zu geben. Damit ist sein Programm umrissen. Es geht darum, dem Namen "Bloy" wieder einen Klang zu verleihen, und er benutzt dazu eine spezifische Strategie. Er stellt dem Leser zunächst Ernst Jünger (1895-1998) vor, der ein Mensch mit besonderer Sichtweise der Wirklichkeit gewesen sei, einer Sichtweise, die alle Gegensätze vereint. Jünger nannte diese Sichtweise "stereoskopisch". Pschera nimmt also zunächst einen Exkurs zum stereoskopischen Lesen vor. Der stereoskopische Leser beobachtet den Text, schafft sich eine vom momentanen Abbild des Textes abstrahierende Anschauung und gewinnt damit eine dialektische Optik, die ein und derselben literarischen Konfiguration zugleich zwei Sinnesqualitäten abgewinnen kann. Der Leser agiert mehrdimensional, erstellt Verknüpfungen zu bisher Gelesenem und erfaßt den Inhalt der Lektüre komplementär. Pschera ordnet über diesen Weg das für heutige Verhältnisse ungewöhnliche Denken Bloys in einen größeren Kontext ein und begründet zu diesem Zweck über die Stereoskopie im Sinne der Dialektik von Text- und Sachzugang eine annähernd neue Objektivität der Haltungen gegenüber diesem verschollenen Autoren.
