Diese Arbeit versteht sich als Beitrag zur Diskussion um die sogenannte höfische Dichtersprache. Den Ansatzpunkt für die Untersuchung bildet dabei die Analyse des oft als gruppenspezifisch verstandenen Wortschatzes. Die Programmwörter hövescheit, mâze, tugent, zuht, êre und muot dieses Wortschatzes entwerfen in ihrer unterschiedlichen sprachlichen Verwendung das für den literarischen Handlungsraum hof gültige Regelwerk und dessen Grenzen. Durch die empirische Analyse der sprachlichen Verwendung der einzelnen Programmwörter und deren konzeptioneller Verknüpfung im Sinne eines Programmwortschatzes in der höfischen Epik um 1200 wird eine bisher bestehende Forschungslücke gefüllt und so eine Basis für weiterführende Forschungsfragen geschaffen.
