Content: The object-based stochastic approach in facies modelling is important in the construction of geologically consistent 3-D reservoir models and in constraining the distribution of petrophysical properties. Tortuosity factor, facies, porosity and cementation factor constitute major uncertainties in the generated 3-D static model of the Niger Delta Basin. Reservoir quality in the Dahomey Basin is mainly controlled by detrital matrix, carbonate cement, and iron oxide and iron oxyhydroxide cements.
Note: Acknowl edgements -- Abstract -- Kurzfassung -- Contents -- Declaration of originality -- 1 Introduction -- 2 Depositional fades and 3-dimensional modelling of deltaic sandstone reservoirs - an onshore Niger Delta (Nigeria) case study -- 3 Petrography and reservoir quality controls in shatow transitional marine Cretaceous-Paleogene deposits in the Dahomey Basin, Nigeria -- 4 Diagenetic evolution of continental to shalow marine Mesozoic-Cenozoic deposits. Eastern Dahomey Basin, Nigeria: Implications for reservoir quality -- 5 Summary -- 6 Conclusions and outlook -- 7 References -- 8 Appendix.
