Von seinen Reisen nach Afghanistan (vgl. "Afghanische Reise", BA 7/06) brachte er nicht nur Eindrücke und Erfahrungen mit, sondern auch besondere Dokumente: einerseits Hunderte von Kinderzeichnungen, die das Leben, den Alltag und auch die Träume der Kinder in dem kriegsgebeutelten Land zeigen, andererseits auch zahlreiche Briefe, Aufsätze und Berichte von Studentinnen, Lehrerinnen und anderen Frauen, aber auch von Dorfältesten, Hirten oder ehemaligen Kämpfern. Willemsen verpackt all diese Texte in ein Buch, verbindet die Teile bewährt eloquent, manchmal zu sprachverliebt. Die Kinderzeichnungen beeindrucken, bleiben aber manchmal - da völlig ohne Erläuterungen - fremd und in der Tiefe schwer verständlich. Breitere Empfehlung aufgrund des Autors. (2)
