In 10 Abteilungen, unter Überschriften, die (zumeist) auf die Moral von der Geschicht' zielen (Übe stets Bescheidenheit/Erst denken, dann handeln/Wer andern eine Grube gräbt etc.) sind in diesem schmalen großformatigen Band 49 Texte versammelt. Es sind neben bekannten, klassischen Fabeln (Aesop, LaFontaine) auch weniger bekannte bzw. in diesem Kontext nicht unbedingt erwartete Texte (u.a. Schopenhauer, Ebner-Eschenbach, Kafka, I. Svevo, Guggenmos, Tegetthoff), und auch Gereimtes (5-mal Wilhelm Busch, Raabe, Rückert z.B.). Das ist ganz interessant, doch sind, zumal für Kinder, nicht alle Texte so richtig zündend. Das Buch ist hübsch aufgemacht mit vielen ganzseitigen und zusätzlich kleinen farbigen Illustrationen, im Stil nicht ganz einheitlich und deutlich Vorbilder erkennen lassend. Wer im Fabel-Bestand einen neuen Farbtupfer braucht, kann zugreifen, das "umfassende Hausbuch" und "Standardwerk" (Verlag) ist der Band sicher nicht.. - Sammlung klassischer Fabeln und Texte u.a. von LaFontaine, Schopenhauer, Ebner-Eschenbach, Kafka.
