Anliegen dieser Arbeit ist es, Grundlagen, Orientierungen und Strategien fur ein 1 modernes, reflexives Kulturmanagement (vgl. Heinze 1994 , 1995) zu ent wickeln. Diese noch "junge", vielfaltiger Kritik und auch Vorurteilen ausge setzte (Universitats-)Disziplin bedarf der Professionalitat und Soliditat in Lehre und Forschung. Die folgenden Kapitel versammeln kultur- und wirt schaftswissenschaftliche Ansatze zum Kulturmanagement. Als systematische Einfuhrung und theoretische Orientierung ist der Beitrag "Der Markt als Regulator kultureller Leistungen" von Peter Bendixen zu ver stehen. Bendixen kritisiert zunachst den Marktbegriff der klassischen Okono mie als zu abstrakt, da er dessen "kulturellen Charakter" ignoriert. Die Ent wicklung zur Marktwirtschaft, insbesondere die Entstehung und Entfaltung von Markten, ist ohne die Dimension des Kulturellen nicht vorstellbar. Der Autor reflektiert die Komplexitat der Verhaltnisbestimmung von Markt und Kultur und entwickelt "Voruberlegungen zu einer anderen Herangehensweise zur Be stimmung des Marktes als bkonomischer Kategorie". AnschlieBend befaBt er sich mit Aspekten des "Kulturbegriffs, soweit sie fur die Diskussion der Rolle des Marktes im Grenzbereich und innerhalb kultureller Aktivitaten" von Rele vanz sein kbnnten.
