Zu der Zeit, als der Himmel noch voller Engel war, verbrachten die Menschen viel Zeit damit, sich wahrhaft 'große' Fragen zu stellen. Sie wollten wissen, welcher Welt ihre irdische Welt entsprungen sei, welche Welt sie nach der ihren erwarte, ob sie zu denen zählen würden, die im Glanze Gottes baden, oder zu jenen, die in der Glut der Hölle schmoren werden. Sie fragten sich, was sie tun müßten, damit der Allmächtige ihnen gnädig sei. All dies waren wahrhaft 'große', weil für die Menschen unbeantwortbare Fragen. Gottlob gab es die Engel! Sie sollten helfen, das Unbeantwortbare zu beantworten. Als 'Boten des Himmels' trugen sie mal mehr, mal weniger frohe Botschaften aus der höheren, doch unzugänglichen Welt zu den Erdenmenschen hinab, und hin und wieder trugen sie menschliche Fürbitten zu Gott hinauf. So ließen sie das Band zwischen Immanenz und Transzendenz nicht abreißen. Sie dienten als Medium, als Mitte und als Mittler zwischen den Welten. Sie waren die Agenten der Verkupplung und Verknüpfung
