?Dieses Buch ist in erster Linie als eine Art Lehrbuch für Fortgeschrittene im Bereich der Psychotherapie gedacht. Den Vertretern dieser Berufsgruppe, die häufig eine unterschiedliche Ausbildung genossen haben, wird es nicht schwerfallen, die Berichte über die Transaktions-Analyse auf ihre eigenen Begriffssysteme zu übertragen. Zweifellos werden auch Laien dieses Buch lesen, und aus diesem Grund habe ich es so abgefasst, dass auch sie es verstehen können. In der konventionellen Psychotherapie wendet man in der Regel drei verschiedene Ebenen der Fachsprache an: die der Therapeuten unter sich, die zwischen Therapeut und Patient, und die der Patienten untereinander. Sie unterscheiden sich voneinander etwa wie das Altgriechische vom Neugriechischen. Eliminiert man die Unterschiede so weit wie irgend möglich zugunsten einer Volkssprache, dann erhöht das erfahrungsgemä ︢die IDoKommunikationsmöglichkeitIDk, die viele Therapeuten herbeisehnen, deren Zustande kommen sie aber gerade durch ihr Verhalten behindern, wenn nicht gar verhindern. Deshalb habe ich zu vermeiden versucht, Ungewissheit durch Überladenheit und Weitschweifigkeit zu verschleiern.? Eric Berne
