Frip ist ein ödes Nest am Meer, 3 Familien wohnen dort mit ihren Ziegen. Es wäre alles sehr nett, gäbe es nicht die Gapper, tennisballgroße Wesen, die aus dem Meer kommen und Ziegen lieben. Sie "besetzen" die Tiere, werden von den Kindern abgebürstet, ins Meer versenkt - und kehren zurück auf die Ziegen. Ein Dauerkreislauf, bis die Gapper beschließen, nur noch Tiere direkt an der Küste aufzusuchen. Serena hat sie am Hals (auf den Ziegen), wird nicht damit fertig und bittet die Nachbarn um Hilfe, denn die genervten Ziegen geben keine Milch mehr. Hilfsbereitschaft, Mitleid? Fehlanzeige, klammheimliche Schadenfreude und selbstgefälliges Gutmenschtum zeichnet die Nachbarn, die samt ihren Häusern ganz schnell ganz weit von Serena abrücken, aus. Doch eines Tages sind sie auf ihre Hilfe angewiesen, denn Serena hat eine fantastische Idee, wie sie die Gapper los wird. Die höchst kuriose Geschichte gipfelt in aberwitzigen Illustrationen, die dem Text an Skurrilität in nichts nachstehen. Jeder Leser jeden Alters, der nur einen Funken Humor hat, wird sich mit den verliebten Gappern königlich amüsieren.. - Die kreischenden, in Ziegen verliebte Gapper - etwa Tennisball groß - treiben die Kinder von Frip, die sich mit den Biestern rumschlagen müssen, zum Wahnsinn.
