Main description: Blogs von Soldaten aus dem Irakkrieg sind Teil bedeutsamer Umstrukturierungen unserer Medienkultur: Soldaten werden zu Journalisten, persönliche Botschaften zu Kriegsberichterstattung. Johanna Roering beschreibt erstmals systematisch dieses Phänomen, indem sie Darstellungsverfahren und Kommunikationsprozesse in »Military Blogs« untersucht. Dabei wird deutlich, dass »Military Blogs« gleichzeitig der interpersonalen Kommunikation dienen und sich in einen online stattfindenden »Infowar« einfügen. Hoffnungen auf kriegskritische Augenzeugenberichte werden meist enttäuscht.
