Der Autor, der selbst der Frankfurter Schule entstammt, fordert eine normative Politikwissenschaft und eine häufigere Anwendung der Kritischen Theorie. Er wirft seinen Kollegen vor, dass sie zu häufig die Perspektive der Mächtigen statt die der Bürgerinnen und Bürger einnehmen.
