Biographisches: " Yann Martel wurde 1963 in Spanien geboren. Er wuchs in Costa Rica, Frankreich, Mexiko, Alaska und Kanada auf, als Sohn eines Diplomaten, und lebte spä,er im Iran, in der Tü,kei und in Indien. Sein Roman &rsaquo,chiffbruch mit Tiger&lsaquo,(2001) erschien in ü,er 50 Lä,dern, wurde millionenfach verkauft und 2002 mit dem Man Booker Prize ausgezeichnet. Die Verfilmung von Regisseur Ang Lee wurde 2013 mit vier Oscars prä,iert. Bei S. FISCHER sind auß,rdem der Erzä,lband &rsaquo,ie Hintergrü,de zu den Helsinki-Roccamations&lsaquo,(2005) und die Romane &rsaquo,in Hemd des 20.
