Content: Das Leib-Seele-Problem hat eine lange Vorgeschichte, die sich bis in die Frühzeit der griechischen Kultur zurückverfolgen lässt. Die existenzielle Frage, was im Augenblick des Todes mit der Seele geschieht, ob und in welcher Form es ein Fortleben nach dem Tod gibt und wie sich Leib und Seele zueinander verhalten, ist innerhalb der griechischen Philosophie von der Frühzeit bis in die Spätantike in unterschiedlicher Weise beantwortet worden.Die Beiträge dieses Bandes werden nicht nur der Breite dieses Themas gerecht, sondern umfassen auch das zeitliche Spektrum von den Vorsokratikern bis in die Spätantike, mit besonderen Schwerpunkten auf Platon, Aristoteles und den Philosophen des hellenistischen Zeitalters, d.h. Stoikern und Epikureern.
