Die politische Kommunikation hat sich im Laufe der Geschichte mehrfach gravierend verändert. Das Internet verursacht den neuesten und derzeit am meisten diskutierten Wandel der Medienlandschaft. Der Eindruck jedoch, dass Medienwandel und Medienkonvergenz sich in der rasanten Entwicklung des Internets erschöpften, ist zu kurzsichtig. Um die Formen und Folgen des aktuellen Medienwandels einordnen zu können, betrachtet der vorliegende Sammelband auch historische Entwicklungen politischer Kommunikation.
