Der Schweizer Autor ist mit Überlegungen, der Anschlag auf das World-Trade-Center 2001 sei - wie auch das Attentat auf "Charlie Hebdo" - von geheimen staatlichen Stellen organisiert gewesen, aufgefallen. Folglich sollte dieses Buch mit Skepsis beurteilt werden. Ganser, laut seiner Homepage "Friedensforscher", will hier nachweisen, dass die NATO und ihre Mitglieder für alle Kriege seit 1945 bis heute verantwortlich seien. Er subsumiert unter "Kriege" auch Konflikte und Krisen und beschreibt Konflikte, an denen die NATO nicht beteiligt war, wo aber "NATO-Staaten" die Akteure waren. Er gibt vor, die UNO zu verteidigen, gleichzeitig wirft er ihr vor, von NATO-Staaten dominiert zu sein. Darum, nicht wegen der Vetos anderer, sei sie aktionsunfähig. Weitere kriegerische Akteure scheint es für ihn in der Weltpolitik nicht zu geben. Das ist monokausal, eher irritierend als erhellend. Seine knappe Beschreibung der NATO kann man nur mit gutem Vorwissen nachvollziehen. Die Zeitgeschichts-Bestände sind mit kritischen Titeln zum Thema recht gut ausgestattet, darum allenfalls zur Dokumentation extremer Positionen.
