Dieser voluminöse, opulente Bildband erscheint rechtzeitig in 2. unveränderter Auflage zum 100. Geburtstag des Literaturnobelpreisträgers von 1957 Albert Camus (7. November 1913 - 4. Januar 1960). Von seiner Tochter und Nachlassverwalterin Catherine Camus ausgewählt und zusammengetragen, versammelt er in chronologischer Reihenfolge Fotos und Dokumente (Briefe, Manuskriptseiten, Tagebucheintragungen, Belege), verknüpft durch zahlreiche Zitate. Es gibt keine erläuternden oder einführenden Texte, wohl aber - leider recht blass gedruckte - Bildlegenden. Jede Seite ist anders und wunderschön gestaltet. Es gibt viele bisher unbekannte Fotos und sie zeigen Camus nicht nur als den ernsten Moralisten, sondern auch als "warmherzigen und aufmerksamen Menschen", als fröhlichen Familienvater. Für die Kinder und Enkelkinder, die Camus nie kennengelernt haben, hat Catherine Camus die subjektive fotografische Biografie unternommen. Am Ende des Bandes das zertrümmerte Unfallauto, nein, am Ende des Bandes Camus und sein Verleger Gallimard, verschmitzt in einem Restaurant sitzend. - Als Ergänzung empfohlen
