Gesamtausgabe / Karl Barth ; [48].
Content:
The outbreak of the World War in 1914 meant for Karl Barth "a double error": in the theology of his teachers, which had become unreliable due to their identification with the war politics of Wilhelm II, and also in European socialism, which had swept into the national war fronts everywhere. This pushed Barth on the path of a passionate search for new, viable theological foundations and a new understanding of political responsibility. The present volume documents the milestones of this search and thus makes the origins, the motives and intentions of the decisions understandable, which made epoch with "Dialectical Theology" and decisively shaped the theology of the 20th century.
