Die dramatische Geschichte des jungen Königs Artus und seinem Getreuen, dem Zauberer Merlin, der den Untergang des Reiches voraussieht, ist als farbenprächtiges Epos des höfischen Mittelalters trotz vieler weit ausgesponnener Passagen ein Stoff, der lesewütige junge Leute packt.
