Ironische Distanz, lakonischer Humor, Spannung und eleganter und unterhaltsamer Erzählstil vor dem Hintergrund des Kalten Krieges verleihen dieser Lebensgeschichte (analog zum Spion, der aus der Kälte kam!) alle Qualitäten eines Spionageromans, den man einfach nicht mehr aus der Hand legen kann.
