Biographisches: "Barbara Demick ist eine renommierte amerikanische Journalistin, die ab 1986 für The Philadephia Inquirer tätig war, unter anderem als Korrespondentin im Nahen Osten. 2001 ging sie für die Los Angeles Times nach Seoul, von 2007 bis 2016 arbeitete sie als Korrespondentin in Peking. Im Land des Flüsterns wurde mit dem Human Rights Book Award ausgezeichnet. Bei Droemer ist von Demick zudem das aufrüttelnde Buch Die Rosen von Sarajevo erschienen. "
