Mit der vorliegenden Arbeit bietet Alexandre von Rohr einen umfassenden Überblick über die rechtsethologische Forschung und liefert zugleich neue Einblicke in den Zusammenhang von Verhaltensforschung und Recht. -- Ausgangspunkt ist die Feststellung, dass Normen den biologisch vorgegebenen Verhaltensrahmen des Menschen zu beachten haben, weil sie sonst kaum die beabsichtigten Verhaltenssteuerungen erreichen. Anschliessend wird ein neues Erklärungsmodell zum Zusammenwirken von normativen und biologischen Verhaltensanweisungen entwickelt. Es ist dies das Modell der drei verhaltensleitenden Informationspools. Grundgedanke ist dabei, dass der Mensch zur eigenen Verhaltenssteuerung auf Informationen über seine Umwelt angewiesen ist. Dabei stehen ihm drei Informationspools zur Verfügung: der genetische, der neuronale und der kulturelle Informationspool. Normen sind Teil des kulturellen Informationspools, wodurch sich im Zusammenspiel mit dem genetischen und neuronalen Informationspool ein vielfältiges Wirkungsgefüge ergibt. Diese Zusammenhänge werden umfassend aufgedeckt und auf das Verhaltensphänomen "Vertrauen" im Recht übertragen.
