Formal ist das in 18 Kapitel gegliederte Buch breiter zugänglich als lehramtliche Verlautbarungen (z.B. "Auf Hoffnung hin gerettet", ID 22/08). Dennoch erfordert diese Zusammenstellung von Einblicken ins persönliche Lebensumfeld und dezidiert vertretenen Positionen zu Glaubens-, Kirchen- und Zeitthemen eine vergleichbar aufmerksame und kritische Rezeption. So erscheint z.B. der Hinweis, dass eine effiziente inner-institutionelle Verfolgung sexueller Übergriffe "bis in die späten 50er-Jahre hinein funktioniert" habe (Seite 42), vor dem Hintergrund der anhaltenden Diskussionen über die Bedeutung des II. Vatikanischen Konzils (1958-1965) durchaus als interpretierbar. Mit Dokumentenanhang, Zeittafel und Register; Abbildungen nur auf dem Schutzumschlag.
