Der Gefängnisarzt Joe Bausch zeigte in seinem Buch "Knast" (ID-A 17/12) wie es hinter den Mauern von Männergefängnissen zugeht. Einen noch selteneren Einblick in das Leben in Frauengefängnissen gibt Karlheinz Keppler in seiner Dokumentation "Frauenknast". Auch Keppler ist langjähriger Gefängnisarzt und kennt die Probleme der einsitzenden Frauen, die sich deutlich von denen der Männer unterscheiden. Hier sind die Reizworte Zickenkrieg, Schwangerschaft, lesbische Liebe und Drogenkonsum, eine "Melange aus Tragik, Drama und schlimmsten Lebensgeschichten". Keppler geht auf die Probleme der Mutter-Kind-Unterbringung ein, schildert Fluchtversuche und erörtert die Themen, die in seinen Sprechstunden am häufigsten im Vordergrund stehen. Der Gefängnisarzt beendet sein Buch mit scharfer Kritik an der deutschen Justizpolitik, die, seiner Meinung nach, von meist unfähigen Ministern gestaltet werde, die sich "unsinnige" Maßnahmen wie die Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe, Weihnachtsamnestie und Warnschussarrest ausgedacht hätten. Ein wichtiges Buch zu einem Thema, über das es zurzeit keine weitere seriöse Darstellung gibt. (2)
