The articles explore the knowledge basis and scientific reserves for research on literature and culture of Czechia and the historical Bohemian Countries. Their results are relevant as well for research as for teaching. The contributions introduce to a set of problems – with focus on the development from the turn of the 18th/19th century up to the present. A series of overviews combine context-related research with the analysis of exemplary cases. While the first volume is dedicated to philological questions as well as to aspects of intermediality, the second volume concentrates on complex cultural and historical coherences. Both volumes aim to make results from academic research accessible also for a broader community of readers in order to foster mutual understanding of Czech/Bohemian literature and cultural history.
