Die gegenwärtige Situation der Philosophie ist gekennzeichnet durch das unversöhnliche Nebeneinander zweier Grundpositionen: auf der einen Seite ein ästhetisierender Postmodernismus, auf der anderen Seite moralische Letztbegründungskonzepte.
