In einer trüben Winternacht im Jahr eins oder vier erwachen die Schafe plötzlich mitten in der Nacht, weil es so hell ist. Und ihre Hirten sind weg. Ob die von Ufos entführt wurden? Doch da war noch eine Botschaft: irgendwas mit Windeln. So nach und nach erfahren die Schafe die Nachricht von dem Baby, das später die Welt retten soll. Sie machen sich auf zu dem blond gelockten neugeborenen "Mädchen". Doch ohne Hirten ist es gar nicht so einfach, den richtigen Weg zu finden und die Herde zusammenzuhalten. - Der Witz des Buches liegt vor allem in der Naivität der Schafe, die sich auch in den herrlichen Illustrationen widerspiegelt. Zudem wird die damalige Zeit gekonnt mit Elementen und Wissen aus der heutigen Zeit vermischt. Jedes Schaf hat einen eigenen Charakter und eigene Merkmale (z.B. ein Gipsbein oder eine Zahnspange), sie streiten sich untereinander, wenn es darauf ankommt hält die Herde aber zusammen, kein Schaf wird zurückgelassen. Das Cover in Nachtblau mit einem fluoreszierenden Schaf und entsprechender Schrift lädt zum Zugreifen ein. Ein köstlicher Lesespaß für alle Bibliotheken. Christina Hellemann
