In 7 Kapiteln vermittelt der Autor Wissenswertes über die Erforschung des Weltalls und des Universums. Die ca. 100 Texte sind fundiert, gut verständlich und liefern die Grundlage zum Verständnis der Erkenntnisse in Astronomie und Raumfahrt. Die Themen werden auf je einer Doppelseite abgehandelt. Die 1. Seite beinhaltet Fakten und Erkenntnisse im Zusammenhang in leicht verständlicher Form. Eine Zusatz-Info in einer Box vermittelt zusätzlich Hintergrundwissen. Die 2. Seite enthält jeweils ein Farbbild mit einer Bildinfo zum besseren Verständnis. Ein Glossar, eine Zeitleiste und ein Register dienen der besseren Erschließung. In Form und Inhalt mit dem Titel "Warum leuchten Sterne?" desselben Verfassers (BA 7/03) vergleichbar.
