Diese Arbeit behandelt verschiedene Probleme, die sich bei einer Prozessaufrechnung ergeben, wenn auf der einen oder anderen Seite mehrere Forderungen bestehen. Es werden dabei vor allem auch die Unterschiede zwischen materiell-rechtlicher und prozessualer Erklärung und deren Unabhängigkeit voneinander untersucht. Im materiell-rechtlichen Teil geht es in erster Linie darum, wer bestimmen kann, welche von mehreren Forderungen miteinander verrechnet werden, und was gilt, falls eine solche Bestimmung nicht getroffen oder später abgeändert wird. Im prozessualen Teil wird beispielweise erörtert, welche Rechtskraftwirkung ein Urteil hat, das über mehrere Aufrechnungsforderungen entscheidet oder die Aufrechnungseinwendung mangels Tilgungsbestimmung als «unbestimmt» zurückweist.
