Warum lernen Ausländer heute Deutsch? Mit welchen Lernbedingungen sind sie konfrontiert? Welche Standards können sie in ihrer Ausbildung und von der Ausbildung ihrer Lehrkräfte erwarten? Diesen Fragen widmet sich der vorliegende Band aus international vergleichender Perspektive. Sprachlich-kommunikative Kompetenzen sind dabei als Generalschlüssel für den Wissenstransfer zu begreifen: Sprachlicher und fachlicher Wissenstransfer sind zwei gleichrangige Anforderungen bei Zugang, Erwerb und Vermittlung von Wissen, und zwar ganz besonders in verschiedenen interkulturellen Kontexten. Die Beiträge werfen einen Blick auf Bedingungen, Formen und Probleme von DaF-Unterricht und Deutschlehrerausbildung und diskutieren Reformvorschläge. Der Band setzt die verschiedenen Spielarten des Wissenstransfers in eine Beziehung zum Deutschlernen und verankert damit das Thema Wissenstransfer als einen eigenständigen Aspekt in Deutsch als Fremdsprache.
