Werkstoffwissenschaften und Fertigungstechnik Die Autoren geben einen Überblick über nahezu alle Ingenieurwerkstoffe, seien es metallische, nichtmetallische, Naturstoffe oder Kunststoffe. Beschrieben werden integrierende physikalische Phänomene, wie z. B. atomare Bindung und Struktur, Diffusion und atomare Platzwechsel, Zustandsänderung und Phasenumwandlung, Vorgänge an Grenzflächen, Korrosion und Korrosionsschutz, Festigkeit und Verformung, elektrische und magnetische Eigenschaften sowie die zerstörungsfreie Prüftechnik. Auch die Technologie der Herstellung von Werkstoffen und ihrer Weiterverarbeitung zu Bauteilen wird Materialklassen übergreifend dargestellt. In der Neuauflage wurden die Kapitel, welche das Mikrogefüge und die Systematik der Umwandlungen beschreiben, völlig neu gefasst. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden dabei die Veränderungen der Mikrostruktur im Zuge des Erstarrens und bei anschließender Wärmebehandlung. Diese Vorgänge bilden eine wichtige Grundlage für den Einsatz des richtigen Werkstoffs in der Praxis genauso wie für die Fertigungstechnik. Außerdem wurden die einleitenden Abschnitte über Rohstoffversorgung, Umweltbelastung und Recycling aktualisiert. Das Buch eignet sich für Studenten der Werkstoffwissenschaften und des Maschinenbaus genauso wie für den Ingenieur in der Praxis.
