Ein locker erzählter Familien- und Liebesroman, der etliche Klischees einschlägiger Trivialliteratur bedient und doch, dank der in homöopathischen Dosen verabreichten Beigabe zeitlich passender Sozial- und Gesellschaftskritik und der Thematisierung des legitimen Unterhaltungswerts auch von Kitschromanen, zu einer kurzweiligen Emanzipationsgeschichte mit historischem Berlin-Flair wird. Reizvolle Verflechtungen zu Personen aus den drei früheren Titeln der Autorin (vgl. zuletzt "Das Cafe unter den Linden", ID-A 32/17) sorgen für Wiedererkennungseffekte. Ein Frauenschmöker, der überall ankommen dürfte.
