Zwischen Cottbus und Alt-Schadow entfaltet sich die Spree zu einer der faszinierendsten Niederungslandschaften Europas, dem Spreewald. Neben der urwüchsigen Natur locken aber auch Schlösser und Kirchen, Heimatmuseen und Ausflugslokale in die Auenlandschaft, die sich am besten vom Wasser, auf einer der traditionellen Kahnfahrten erleben lässt. Die originalgetreu nachgebaute Slawenburg Raddusch erzählt von der Frühzeit der Besiedlung, im supermodernen Badezentrum Tropical Islands genießt man Südsee-Klima unter dem Dach der ehemaligen Cargolifter-Werfthalle. In dieser Region im südlichen Brandenburg hat der Volksstamm der Sorben sein Brauchtum und seine Kultur bewahrt. Auf zahlreichen Dorffesten begegnet man noch den historischen Trachten und Bräuchen wie dem Hahnrupfen und Stollenreiten.
