Auch in dieser Auswahl werden alle Aussagen sorgfältig anhand literarischer Quellen belegt und selbstverständlich die lateinischen Bezeichnungen angegeben. Neu und bei Weitem nicht nur auflockerndes Beiwerk sind die grau unterlegten Exkurse "Stimmt es, dass" zu verbreiteten Auffassungen, wie der über Nero als Brandstifter.
