James Salter (1925 bis 2015) gilt als moderner Klassiker der amerikanischen Literatur. Gegen Ende seines Lebens wurde er auch im deutschsprachigen Raum wieder entdeckt. Der Berlin Verlag verlegte zuletzt mit großem Erfolg seine Romane "Alles, was ist" (ID-A 38/13) und sein Debüt "Jäger" (ID-A 46/14). In seinen Geschichten erzählt er immer wieder vom Schönen am Alltäglichen. Trotz allfälligen Scheiterns. Besonders lesenswert: 3 Vorlesungen über das Schreiben und die Literatur, die der Autor gegen Ende seines Lebens gehalten hat. Das Vorwort hat John Banville verfasst. Gern für alle Bestände, in denen der Autor gern gelesen wird.
