Note:
Die Einführung in die einfache Holzbearbeitung ist rundum gelungen. Das farbige Bildmaterial ist anschaulich und ansprechend, der Aufbau des Buchs folgerichtig, der Text gut lesbar und die beispielhaft dargestellten, sich nach und nach in der Schwierigkeit steigernden Projekte werden gut nachvollziehbar und mit in passende Schritte gegliederten, sinnvollen Arbeitsabläufen gezeigt. Sicherheitshinweise werden in angemessener Weise gegeben. Kurzes Register, kurze Auflistung möglicher Bezugsquellen und kurzes Inhaltsverzeichnis erschließen das für Erwachsene und beaufsichtigte Jugendliche oder Kinder geeignete Buch ausreichend. Verglichen mit dem thematisch sehr ähnlichen "Holz! Schnitzen - Traditionell und urban" (ID-A 24/17) ist die vorliegende Anleitung von kleinerem Format (bei gleicher Seitenzahl), kostet jedoch trotz größerer Zahl vorgestellter Projekte (20 statt 8, kaum Überschneidungen) nur die Hälfte.
